I will use data collection(surveys) in a variety of ways in my class room. Beyond an educational stand point, it can be used as a way of improving the students classroom by giving options to them based on preference. A simple survey of the class can see how they like to learn, and what can help to improve their experience in my class. They can also be used for research which can then be presented back to the children so they can learn a little more about data analysis.  Something that I found interesting while going through my classmates blogs is that we all share commonalities when it comes to what we write about. I tend to write about organization as an important tool and it seems I am not the only one. This gives me a little hope that I am not the only one that sees the value in organization. We all are connected through this class but we are so much similar outside of it.  A technology related tool that I would like learn next is Excel. While this may be a little adv...

I have spent a lot of time in my day doing distance learning. Much like the rest of my peers, our change towards distance learning has been through online/synchronous zoom meetings that involve the whole class, just at the comfort of their homes. I can say through experience that I enjoy being able to role out of bed and get onto a zoom call or get up whenever and do my work as I please but it comes with its downsides. I saw a horrible change in my sleep schedule which ultimately caused me to waste away much of my days. Being in person at least kept an orderly routine that got me out of bed each morning with something to strive for that day. As a teacher, it is important to induce participation in other ways through distance learning. Something such as keeping strong contact can help keep students on track and engaged with the class. OER's are educational resources that can be freely read, shared, and edited. Lots of OER's are found online as it is an easy way to spread lots o...

When it comes to assistive technological tools, we have come along way. Re did a great job of explaining her situation and how great technology has become for people in similar situations. It is important to maintain a good understanding of your students situation and be able to adjust your curriculum for them. Some of the tools such as alt text on images allow students like Re to be able to picture an image without being able to actually see it.  What I have gotten from using Diigo is a great sense of organization of websites and other online resources that can be beneficial for class. It can be used in a classroom to easily share and bookmark information that needs to be shared to all students. The world is ever changing and technology is where much of the information we use is stored. Having a site like Diigo makes the process of organization a lot easier.  https://www.simplilearn.com/top-technology-trends-and-jobs-article This site and particular article shares the l...

The school website that I visited is my own elementary school website from back in the day. I went to a catholic elementary school and the website is heavily based around faith and religion. It mentions its mission and other religious things such as bible quotes. There is also information about clubs, sports, and events going on at the school. The school costs money so there is an area that shows the tuition and fees that it costs to attend. https://www.stursula.org/ I think that using technology has its perks and its downsides. It can become distracting for students so the use of technology will be limited. Of course, there is lots of positives about the use of technology such as the incorporation of games and videos. Visually demonstrating or showing the children information can be beneficial for some that do not understand when it is just spoken to them. Also, games are a great way for kids to associate learning with having fun and challenging them to beat their own scores. I w...

Throughout my early experience using Diigo, I have found no trouble at all and really enjoy its ability to highlight and annotate information efficiently. It is also very easy to organize the pages and bookmark the work you have done. I will say, I tried to use the mobile app and found some difficulty navigating. The website version is much better.       I have thoroughly enjoyed blogging in this class. While we do have prompts, I feel free to write however I please. I have learned a great skill in organization because I need to write, post, and then share my work in a certain fashion. This has helped beyond blogging. In terms of the blogging, I have learned how to write in a way that is entertaining. I am not looking to write crazy informative paragraphs, but more just how I feel. There is emotion in the writing, and this is what I greatly enjoy about it.   A webtool that I used in high school but have not touched in my college experience is OneNote. OneNote wa...

Throughout my early uses on Twitter, I have gained a great understanding of how the app works and all the people that are active on it. Some of the people I have interacted and followed with are travel experts. These people post their lives and how they can afford/make a living while always on the go. This is important as I envy this lifestyle and want to incorporate it into my future. These people even make some money off their following and this can be an important tool in my future if I gained a following and became an influencer. Even without becoming an influencer, it is a great tool to meet like-minded people who are interested in the same things as myself.          In this day and age, everything is done online. The problem with this is that some people have much more access to these important devices than others. This causes a great divide where some students are much more advanced than others. This leads to more serious issues down the ...

We use computers and other forms of technology in schools as this is what children have grown up on and gotten accustomed to. Some problems that stem from this new use include decreased productivity and academic dishonesty. Now I have some solu...
